# U-Line appliance installation

What this involves

Cutout and clearance against the maker's own figures

Anti-tip bracket fitted, every time

Water and drain done properly on the machines that need them

Check the opening before the appliance arrives

Cutout width, height and depth, and the clearance the unit needs to move air. This is the cheapest moment in the entire life of the appliance to discover a problem.

Fit the anti-tip bracket

It is in the manual, it is not optional, and it is the thing most often skipped by whoever installed the kitchen.

Water and drain, where there is any

Hookup kit, no kinks, and a drain that runs. On a pumped installation the pump gets tested before the unit goes back under the counter, not after.

Then the doors, and a working handover

Door swing, door stop and adjustment set; the reversible hinge if the model has one. Then the controls explained — including the two modes that will otherwise bring us back.
