# U-Line appliance maintenance

What this involves

Condenser, seals, doors, drain — and the ice cycle where there is one

The maker's own intervals, adjusted for South Florida

Findings written down, not just fixed

The condenser and the grille

The single most effective thing anyone does to an undercounter unit, and the maker's own first answer to half its own troubleshooting rows.

Doors and seals

Checked around the whole perimeter and aligned if they have moved. In this climate a marginal seal costs temperature every hour of every day.

The drain, and the water side where there is one

Drain hose clear and unkinked; on an ice machine the filter and the cleaning cycle. Both are cheap now and expensive later.

And a written note of what is aging

A seal that is stiffening or a fan that is starting to sing is worth knowing about before it strands you, and it goes in writing rather than in conversation.
