# U-Line condenser and airflow service

What this involves

The maker's own first check for "not cold enough"

Cleaned the way the manual allows, not with a chemical

Clearance around the unit checked, not only inside it

Look at the grille first

Nothing blocking the front grille at the bottom of the unit. It is the one instruction the manual repeats in three different sections and it is free to follow.

Clean the coil properly

Soft brush and vacuum. The manual is explicit that no cleaner of any type goes on the condenser, and there is a good reason: a residue on a coil is a permanent insulator.

Check what the unit is breathing

An appliance built into a run with no path for warm air to leave will do this again in months. That gets said out loud rather than left for next time.

Then measure the result

Twenty-four hours with a thermometer in a bottle of water. A condenser service that has worked shows up as a set point that is now held.
