# U-Line control board and display repair

What this involves

Diagnosed the maker's way before it is condemned

A blank display is checked as a mode first

A new board is programmed to your model, or nothing works right

A dead display is a mode until proved otherwise

Sabbath mode blanks the display and keeps the unit running. On the current controls it also silences every alarm. Before a board is suspected, that gets ruled out with your hand on the inside of the cabinet.

Then power, in the maker's own order

Voltage at the outlet, voltage at the control's input, continuity of fuse F1, then a test display cycled for operation. Four checks, in that order, and most boards are cleared somewhere in them.

The manual's own row for a dead display is that both ends of the display wiring are firmly connected, then a continuity test of the wiring. A loom is a fraction of a board.

If it is the board, it is programmed afterwards

Every U-Line control carries a two-digit model number and reads its defrost interval, fan delays and compressor speed from it. A replacement board that has not been programmed to your machine runs somebody else's settings.
