# U-Line cooling and defrost repair

What this involves

Defrost interval and duration read off the control

Frost told apart from a seal problem before parts

The maker's own thresholds, not a rule of thumb

Decide whether the frost is normal

The manual says frost on the evaporator plate vents is normal and melts during each off cycle. It also gives the threshold that is not: a quarter of an inch of build-up or more.

Rule out the free causes

A door not sealing, warm humid air arriving every time it opens, a lot of product loaded at once. In this climate those explain more frost than the defrost circuit does.

Read what the control is set to

Defrost interval in hours and duration in minutes are both in the service menu. A board programmed to a different model runs a different schedule, and that alone will do this.

Then the circuit itself

Heater, sensor and control, in that order, and the evaporator sensor is the one that decides when a defrost ends.
