Close it and watch. If the tone stops and the icon clears, the appliance was right. If it keeps sounding on a shut door, the switch is reporting something that is not happening.

What the door is actually meeting

A bin one position too far out, a bottle rack, a drawer front that has dropped inside a run of built-in cabinetry. On an undercounter unit the obstruction is usually inside the appliance rather than at the seal.

The switch, by type

Solid doors use a plunger the door presses; glass doors use a reed switch and a magnet in the door. The second drifts out of alignment without anything looking wrong.

And the consequences, cleaned up

A door that has been open five minutes at a time in a Miami kitchen has been loading humid air into the cabinet. Expect frost or condensation for a cycle or two after the switch is right, and if it does not clear, that is a separate look.
