# U-Line ice machine cleaning and descaling

What this involves

The maker's own cleaner, because the manual says so

The full cycle, then a rinse — not a wipe

An interval set to your water, not to the calendar

Read the signal correctly

Three lamps flickering twice each in turn is the cleaning request, and it keeps going until the cycle is run. It is not a failure and it is not something to ignore.

Use the right chemical

The manual warns that other cleaners can damage the machine, and on a nugget machine the chemical reaches the auger and the evaporator. This is one of the warnings worth taking literally.

Run the whole cycle

About ten minutes of automatic cleaning, draining and refilling, then the reservoir cleaned by hand with what is left, then a rinse with clean water through the spout.

Then set an interval that fits your water

A machine that visibly scales between cycles wants a filter as well as a schedule. That is a recommendation, and it is given as one.
