Where there is no gravity drain, an ice machine has a pump, and the maker logs a circuit error for it — P1, qualified in the same breath as only if the unit has a drain pump. Find out what the installation actually is
Gravity or pumped. The answer changes the whole diagnosis and it is not visible from the front of the machine.

Then the hose
Kinked, bent or pulled — the maker warns about all three during installation. A kinked hose behind a built-in machine looks exactly like a failed pump and costs nothing.

A pump that runs and moves nothing, a pump that never runs, and a reservoir that never fills are three different repairs.
