    Start where the outside gets in

    The grille, the condenser and the fan. An outdoor condenser in South Florida collects salt as well as dust, and salt holds water against metal.

    Then the parts that corrode rather than fail

    Fixings, brackets, the anti-tip hardware and the door furniture. On an outdoor unit these are often what makes a repair awkward rather than the repair itself.

    Check the seal and the door harder than indoors

    Ambient humidity here is the load. A seal that would be adequate in a kitchen is not adequate on a terrace, and the manual's own warning about high ambient temperature and excessive humidity is written for exactly this.
