The factory test mode is the one that catches people out: a display showing 99 or a small number looks like a code and is the board telling you which machine it thinks it is.
The 2000 Series answers differently
On the legacy range the maker's own troubleshooting row says that ER or E and a number means the door may have been open too long, and that for other error codes you contact customer service. That contradicts the platform table printed a few pages later in the same manual. Both sentences are U-Line's, and the honest reading is that the exact string on your display is worth writing down and worth nobody guessing at.

That is expected on this make and it is not your search that is failing. Most of these numbers are never displayed at all, and the ones that are get shown as bare digits — which is why searching for them as error codes finds nothing.
The display is dim rather than blank.
On the current controls display brightness is a setting with a dim option, and so is the interior lighting. Check those before assuming a display is failing.
